Only citizens of Australia, Canada, and the US traveling for tourism or business can obtain an electronic visa to Brazil. If you hold a Chinese passport, you can obtain a Brazilian eVisa to attend business events.

Upon the decision of Brazilian authorities the online visa can be issued for a time period between 12 months and 5 years.

The Brazil eVisa requirement applies to air, sea, and land travel.

Travelers from other countries either fall under the visa exemption category or must visit the nearest embassy in person for a visa service.

Brazil Visa Rejection Reasons

To ensure a timely Brazilian online visa approval, applicants should watch out for these common mistakes:

  • Submitting incomplete, missing, or invalid documents
  • Failure to provide sufficient proof of financial means
  • Overstaying a visa or other immigration rules violations
  • Providing inconsistent or inaccurate information in the form

All these problems can be easily omitted by paying close attention to the information provided on the visa application form.

A rejected visa requires the next application to be completed at the embassy.

  • Do I need an eVisa to Brazil if I hold Brazilian citizenship (dual citizenship)?

Brazilian citizens are not eligible to apply for the eVisa. If you have not renounced your Brazilian nationality, you will need to apply for a Brazilian passport in order to travel to Brazil. If you hold an expired Brazilian passport, you must provide proof that you have formally renounced your Brazilian nationality. For further assistance, please contact the nearest Brazilian consulate.
